We have been struggling to find the words to respond to the discovery of the remains of 215 children in Kamloops on Friday. Every child
matters. We mourn for the 215 children who died and for what that loss represents for their families, their communities and for the entire country. The ongoing damage caused by the Residential School System has stolen the potential of thousands of Indigenous people and continues to cause harm. We are calling on all levels of government to enact the 94 Calls to Action found in the Canadian Truth and Reconciliation Report. We challenge ourselves and our community to engage in true reconciliation.
