Although the Back to School period is exciting for many, it is also stressful for some PEI families. With the increase in prices across PEI this year, making ends meet will be even more difficult. Although the Public Schools Branch is providing school supplies, parents and guardians still need to provide backpacks, lunch bags and water bottles.
We also want to help ensure that Island youth have access to the types of food that fuel academic success. Food security is an issue on our island – it affects 1 in 5 children on PEI. The school breakfast and lunch programs provide families with support but there are still gaps. Let’s help fill the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry Food Bank shelves with breakfast, lunch and snack items like cereal, granola bars and juice boxes; please see the full list of needs below.
