We are partnering with The Office of Seniors to hold “Tech N Talk”, a digital literacy event for seniors (65 years of age and older).

When: Saturday, February 11
Time: 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
Location: Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, 97 Queen Street, Charlottetown
Cost: Free

Are you a senior who needs some support with your mobile phone or other tech devices? The Tech N Talk workshop will help you learn the fundamental skills you need to communicate more easily in today’s digital world, which will ultimately help reduce feelings of social isolation.  Participating seniors will be partnered with a youth from our Launch Your Life program for technology support and mentoring.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

• The basics of operating your devices
• Introduction to email, text & social media
• Broadening your knowledge of the internet

Youth volunteers will be providing one-to-one mentoring support to help you with things like: texting, issues with your mobile phone, setting up a Facebook account, how to access email, how to communicate with your family members online, and so much more.

Please bring the devices you would like help with to the workshop.  There is no registration required as this is a drop-in event.

If you enjoy the experience and are interested in working with youth, we would love to talk to you about becoming an In-School Mentor.  There will be information available about the program and staff on hand to answer any questions you might have.
