POSITION TITLE:   Marketing Assistant (Summer Student Employment)

 

REPORTS TO:       Executive Director

 

PURPOSE:             The purpose of this position is to assist Full-time staff in conducting administrative tasks related to day-to-day operations and with our annual fundraising initiative involving the sale of a fully furnished summer cottage.                                         .

 

DUTIES:

  1. Greet the public, giving tours of the cottage and pointing out features.
  2. Selling tickets for Dream Cottage.
  3. Educating the public about Big Brothers Big Sisters and its programs.
  4. Entering data.
  5. Basic bookkeeping including balancing books, bank deposits, debit and credit transactions.
  6. Maintaining ticket sales record.
  7. Assist in acquiring prizes for fundraising draw.
  8. Research donor programs.
  9. Assist with website development.
  10. Assist with Volunteer Recognition Event.
  11. Assist staff with Public Relations and events planning.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills reflecting solid customer

service both in-person and via the telephone.

  1. Able to multitask in a diverse environment and manage time effectively.
  2. Ability to collaborate with other staff and volunteers.
  3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Busy office environment.
  • Must have a valid PEI Driver’s License, clean driving abstract, and a reliable vehicle as it may be required to meet job requirements; such vehicle to carry a minimum of $1,000,000 PL&PD insurance coverage.
